How to change the line on model 8010

To remove the old line simply pull from the inside part of the head.
If you didn't leave any line sticking out of the center holes then push what's left of the line (on the outside) towards the head until you see the tips coming out of the 4 small square holes in the center of the head. If you didn't leave any line sticking out of the center holes and there's no line showing on the outside, use a new piece of line to push the old line out.

The 8020 takes either 2 or 4 pieces of line about 6" long. Originally it comes pre-loaded with .130 round trimmer line but it also takes .095 or .105.
You can buy our pre-cut line model 8020 if you like the .130. You can also cut your own.

Push the new line in from the outside making sure to leave about half an inch sticking through the small holes on the inside part of the head.
You are done!
If the lines fly out of the head, blow some air into the holes. Sometimes grass and dirt lodged in the head prevent the jaws inside from doing their job. Also, make sure the lines are shorter than the blade on the deflector shield. If the lines hit the blade, the angle can make them fly out.
