Electric and Battery Operated trimmers
2 different types of trimmers
Most electric and battery-operated trimmers follow two main "types":
AutoCut or Bump & Feed heads.
Some electric or battery-operated trimmers that come with a Bump & Feed head can use our lighter gas heads.
Trimmers with AutoFeed heads require their own style of replacement head and can't use our gas trimmer heads.
AutoFeed type
AutoFeed timmers don't have a Bump & Feed type head.
Instead of a threaded bump knob, the bottom spool cap is held in place by tabs.
We currently don't have anything to fit these trimmers.
Bump & Feed type
Bump & Feed type
This type of trimmer features a design similar to that of a traditional gas model. It features a bump-and-feed head with a threaded knob and the power head is located near the battery.
Some (not all) of these trimmers can be used with our lighter heads, such as the 3600, 4700, 5600, 5620, or 8010. For installation instructions, follow the guide for gas straight-shaft models.
Usually, we don't fit trimmers with the power head right above the cutting head.
