The following instructions and recommendations are based on the data gathered through our 15+ years in the market. We do our best to list most brands and as many models as possible. We also try to make sure the information provided is accurate but please note, manufacturers can make running changes that we are not aware of until reported by a customer. We do our best to list those exceptions but keep in mind this is just a guide and the best way to troubleshoot an installation is to interact with a Technical Support Specialist either over the phone or via e-mail.
Hitachi are really powerful trimmers. Most of them follow the straight shaft instructions and can use most of our replacement heads.
We fit most models that come with Bump and Feed style heads.
The fastener required for most installations is included in the kit.
We recommend the following GrassGator models: 3600, 4600, 4620, 4680, 3630, 7800, 4750, 5600 , 5620 or 8010.
Most Hitachi follow the straight shaft instructions even if the models are curved shafts.
Every GrassGator kit comes with nuts and bolts that must be 9/16" or 14mm across the flats in order to fit inside the hex shaped hole that moves the replacement head. Some customers have reported that Model CG24EKS has a 14mm shaft which leaves us with no way to attach the GrassGator. If you have a CG24EKS please double check the diameter of the shaft before buying a GrassGator. This has only been reported for the CG24EKS model CG24 doesn't seem to have this problem.
